RECOVERY OF CARBOHYDRATES FROM NIXTAMALIZATION WASTEWATERS (NEJAYOTE) BY ULTRAFILTRATION

The best TMP for the treatment of Neyatote was 1.3 bar using UF membrane (100 kDa). UF membrane presented high rejections on Turbidity, TSS, TOC and Carbohydrates. A concentrated fraction enriched in carbohydrates was obtained. Enzymatic procedures achieved to recover the initial water permeability of the membrane.
